46  Monthly Update Upload Procedure

(This SOP has instructions for uploading monthly survey data into R)

46.1 Instructions

  1. Go to Slack
  • Under proj-risk2-admin, find the message with the uploads for the day
  1. Go to STAR admin account
  • Go to Site Settings > surveys
  1. Go to the R script
  • File > Documents > Github > analysis_risk2 > staff_scripts > upload_monthly_people_places
    • If the file is showing up as internet explorer, right click and go to “open with” > RStudio
  • Confirm top right corner says “analysis_risk2”
    • If it says “Project (None)” click the dropdown arrow and select “analysis_risk2”
  1. Run script
  • Input participant subID (line 26)
  • Scroll to “Click 1” (line 104) and run everything above it
    • To run all chunks above, click the grey triangle above the green line
    • Check locations for errors
    • Check dates (should all be within the last month)
    • If any errors, report to Susan
  • If no errors, scroll to “Click 2”
    • Run script
      • To run a chunk of the script, click the green sideways arrow
    • If any errors, report to Susan
  • If no errors, scroll to “Click 3”
    • Run script
    • If any errors, report to Susan
  • If no errors, scroll to “Click 4”
    • Run script
    • Check for errors
      • In the top right corner, there is a box with the data you need
        • Specifically, look at “people_freq_new” and “places_freq_new”
        • The R output should show 2x the number of people, 1x the number of places, and then 3x the number of places
        • Check to make sure all latitudes and longitudes are similar
    • If any errors, report to Susan
  • If no errors, scroll to “Click 5”
    • Run script to upload survey to STAR
  1. Go to STAR admin account
  • Exit surveys tab (you must exit and reenter surveys tab for each upload)
  • Reenter surveys tab
  • Click Command F and search for participant’s survey
    • Make sure the subID and survey date are correct
  • Download survey (green down arrow to the right)
    • Save a copy to the computer but do not click “import as a new survey”
  1. Go back to R script
  • Scroll to “Click 6”
  • If any errors, report to Susan
  • If no errors, move on to the next subID
  1. Run all subIDs listed in Slack message
  2. Once done, comment “uploads complete” in the Slack thread.
